These days, we see jobs announced in papers and several online recruitment services, like this. It’s understable that there are a lot more people applying for the jobs - such that it’s harder to get employment.

But you can do your part whenever you send in a job application. This is essential for graduates. Usually, your previous work experiences will have been some kind of industrial training and/or your NYSC experience.

Try to accentuate these work experiences when you apply for a graduate position.

Make sure your CV is professional with the right expressions that will catch the attention of a recruiter and impress them. Also, add a cover letter especially when submitting job applications by email.

Please do not send an application to multiple email addresses. I understand that you intend to maximize internet time, but the recipients will consider you unserious.

For example, for the ‘sales representative‘ role (ended 25th June), I received CVs which were also copied sent to Addax, Kimberly Ryan, Ashford & Mcguire with their emails showing.

This is not advisable for job seekers even if it is good publicity for this service (companies will want to check out www.careersnigeria.com from the email shown).

Sales representative job for graduates ends

The sales representative job for recent graduates will end at 6pm today, after which I cannot treat any other application this time.

Already, I have received 253 CVs for this role since June 20th.

By tomorrow, I will have replied everyone that applied. If you don’t get a response, then consider it that your application was not successful.

Zenith bank online recruitment form. Hmm

Ok. I am kinda forced to write about this after receiving several complaints from people and some comments on this blog.

Recently, I announced that Zenith bank is recruiting for NYSC and I linked to the recruitment form. Click here.

However, someone made a comment about receiving the message his application has been on the record, but that this was his first time of submission.

Intuitively, I replied saying that maybe their is mistake or someone has applied for him and maybe he hit the submit button twice.

After another comment from someone else and a series of emails, I tried to submit a job application on the form myself. And behold - I got the message:

“This record already exist. Please note that submission of CV can only be achieved once for an individual. Click Here to try again”

I never applied to Zenith. Please click on the link to see a screenshot of the shocker.

Zenith bank with a market cap of 443 Billion Naira has a faulty recruitment/careers website. Developed in 2004, this online recruitment form is a shame and have to be pulled down or reprogrammed.

What are the IT and HR guys doing with their fat salaries?

Hope someone in Zenith bank is reading this as job seekers and candidates are frustrated with online recruitment applications that can’t inform them the actual nature of their job applications.

I emailed hr@zenithbank.com (to complain about this on Friday) and no response yet.

For those interested in apply for roles at Zenith, forget that online form. Try the email or submit CVs at Zenith bank offices.

Zenith bank should at least learn from Access bank!
