The graduate recruitment fair was held last week (26 & 27th July 2007). Based on some emails I have received, it seemed that the organizers underestimated a few issues.
In reality, over 70% graduates didn’t get a chance to meet employers nor did they get their interviews. So many spent the second day outside of the conference centre itself.
However, some were happy with the materials they got and a very few graduates do hope that they might be contacted again by the employers.
The large number of graduates who didn’t get an interview were told to drop their CVs. That wasn’t what they wanted. They needed to meet the recruiters; get jobs.
Maybe the next graduate recruitment fair will address these issues.
