We are recruiting a Bureau Chief - Lagos (Reference ABU 001) who will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Responsibilities:
•Lead CNBC Africa’s presence in Lagos in terms of the channel and editorially.
•Manage and control the Bureau in terms of day to day activities, administration and profitability.
•Ensure the best possible coverage for both business and stock exchanges
•Ensure that the bureau adheres to the standards set out by CNBC Africa in terms of style, presentation and coverage,
•Produce daily packages, source guests, conduct interviews and assist the CNBC Africa team in all aspects of news coverage
•Identify and manage relationships with third party service providers
Candidates must have:
• 5 to 10 years experience in the broadcast industry in a similar role.
• Thorough understanding of business news and economic principles,
• Intimate knowledge of local economies, bourses and businesses.
• Fluency in English is a must for this position, as is a comprehensive knowledge of business and financial news (and news coverage)
• Hands on experience in a modern broadcast environment.
