it is quite unfortunate that those beloved 2.1 0r first class end up being enslaved in those finacial institutions without being useful in their career and to themselves . Most employyers are so useless that they do not know wants from necesity that is why our economy is going down on daily basis we employ rougeus into office , poeple without vision and mission immagine u employ a microbiolgist with first class in a bank and such fellow later turns to a pen robber i think it i sgood 4 such bank because what he/she know is differnt from counting money for the customers at the counter .STOP THE DISCRIMINATION .

when wil nigerians come to there sense and forged ahead from this Hnd/Bsc problem.the truth is we lost focus why some certain institutions where established.pls if job de no forget me oh,na Nd i get i need job.

i am HND ,ACA and currently head the internal control/audit unit of a financial service firm with big pay and perquisite.so what is the big deal for those discriminating employers.If you refuse to employee the HND holsders others will and this brilliant HND stuffs guys we help turn around the fortune of the company they work for

We are not in a position to tell owners of Organisations what to do. It will amount to an infringements to their rights. Every individual whether HND or B.SC should consistently look for ways to improve themselves to take advantage of opportunities that lies within and around them as entrepreneur. Our govt owe us much in resolving the problem of HND/B.Sc dichotomy that is largely caused by inadequate job openings.

Its rather unfortunate that firms still discriminate on class of degree/diploma.

I graduated 17 years ago with HND Upper Credit in Accounting from a Polytechnic. I have had my ACA, ACTI, CISA and currently head the Finance Dept of one of Nigeri’a biggest IT firm.

Thank God that a company gave me (an HND holder) the opportunity. Not everybody is opportuned to get good grade in school. Imagine a young undergraduate who needs to do menial jobs during school to pay his school fees and do miss class at times to go work for money.

I believe all graduates should be given equal opportunities in terms of recruitment test. When companies take only 1st class and 2nd class upper, it makes some students go the extra mile in getting the grades even when it means doing things that are not pleasant.

I pray that God touch the hearts of these Policy Makers in these companies to have a change of heart. If they don’t I think it is high time, HND holders in position of authorities stop patronising such banks and firms. When there bottom line is affected, they might change the pilicy.

In my previous employment, I made sure I employed only HND graduates and opened accounts only in banks that employ HND graduates.
