It would be a great thing if the young graduates can be given opportunity to contribute their quota to the continuos development of your bank.
Let me also add that grade should not be a criteria for recruitment;every applicant should be thrown to the field to prove him or herself.

I’d like to make a point that your websites are not user-friendly at all, i have applied at least twice to the UBA and a few other bank webistes and never received any response, not even to acknowledge that a cv has been received, so very reluctant applying through this medium, it’s not excatly the same as in the UK where i reside.

I will like to make this known that UBA of all banks is a political bank where you must know who is who in the bank b/4 you get employed by the Bank even when you pass all the test with 80% and beat the interview and have the best grade like first class Hons. They dont believe in reqruiting the best hands but I hope the management will look into it.UBA is supposed to be the pride of Nigerian Bank when it comes to performance and employments with the kind of great branch networks it has.Today as big as the bank is, it still suffers.

I take exceptions to comments from people like GreatSoft….. listen….i am an ex staff of UBA (left Standard Trust after they bought into UBA). I am thankful till tomorrow about the opportunity Tony Elumelu gave me….I did my youth service in Port Harcourt and heard of STB bank test a few weeks before the end of my service.
I sat that test and passed (i didn’t know anyone!)..i went thru 3 interview stages till I saw Tony Elumelu himself without knowing anyone!
If you want to make it..you must have a very determined spirit to carry your ‘flesh’. I passed the test and the interviews were to test if i had what it took and it was a breeze!
I worked for 3 years before i left for an MBA in the U.K……I lapped up every bit of the MBA because I had working experience and could relate to a lot of things. The work culture within the bank..believe me..is of international standard. The smoothness of retail operations wasn’t the best but kudos to Tony Elumelu!
I am not saying crookedness doen’t exist but dare to believe and be determined!

i am not particularly interested nor qualified for the positions advertised,however,i must confess that the communication skill of our graduates leaves little to be desired.please lets work on this,and present ourselves well,job procurement starts from there,it gives for self confidence.
I wonder if some of these people writing on this Site are actaully graduates, given the the kind of stigma their written communication ability exhibits. It pains me most often that this Site has become a yahoo.. yahoo Site where anyone can come and yahoo anything he likes. Please, this Site is not for jamboree. If you do not know how to construct a simple grammer and put it into black and white, you better stop visiting this Site and stop messing up yourself. There is no employer that will be interested in anyone who can not express himself at least in writing. Imagine a graduate saying ‘ I readed, I greatfully thanks to,’ and things like that. If you are not really looking for job and you do not want to hinder those who are searching for job, please be kind enough and pray for them. Everything is the matter of whom you know, loooooooooooong leg, I have 2:1 from one of the best federal univerisity in Nigeria, still at the require age bracket, but only to hear that Aptitude
test is being organised and interview is conducted. Why does the selection not strictly based on merit?

I av sent my cv to ur reputable bank for the post of a prestige cashier, but still i didn’t get any response from the bank, i wish to express my deep heartfelt to how ur recruitment process is being done, i av a question for u, does it mean that when u are not connected u can’t get a Job in this country? If u want to reply now u will say u need people who av 3-4 years experience, when we are not employed , where do you want us to get the experience from, well i av the last thing to say which is , it is not the best hands that are being employed, but if given some people a chance, i believe they will best out their own quota.

I wrote UBA test last year and I was called for Oral interview on 14th Feb.,2008. In which I believe was Okay by me. So funny enough I didn’t hear anything till today. Can it be that, what people have been saying about Leg is right? What exactly will be our own fate? Does that mean without knowing somebody strong or strong connection “NO JOB” for us?
I’m okay, Presently I’m working in a better place but I want to fulfil my objective.Self fulfilment being able to reach peak of one’s career that is it.
I wish I could be employed in any banking sector I will prove myself.
