Ericsson is a leader in the global telecommunications industry. Ericsson is in the process of recruiting top class Engineers, to participate in our tripartite, Ericsson Skills Acquisition Program (E-SAP).
Ericsson is recruiting for exceptional Graduates and Professionals. The successful applicants will be based mainly in Lagos and undergo an intensive 18 month, 12 month or 6 month program depending on the category, covering all core areas in the organization.
Participation requirements are as follows:
Category 1
- First Class degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics/Electronics, Systems Engineering or in a similar discipline from a reputable institution of higher learning
- NYSC certificate.
- Minimum 5 credits in one sitting inWAEC /NECO / GCE / GCSE or equivalent qualification Maximum of one year post NYSC cognate experience.
Category 2
- Minimum 2:1 in Electrical/Electronics engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics/Electronics, Systems Engineering or in similar disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning
- 2/3 years post NYSC cognate experience
- Other requirements as above
Category 3
- Five years post NYSC cognate experience
- Other requirements as above

Its a great opportunity given to those that belong to this category, but I wonder y, most companies will still be on the first class/2.1 grade, well most of them end up employing unsuitable candidate for the job because most of the 2.1 now are bought over either by kind or cash, I want organisation to beware.
they can still give those with 2.2 a chance then if there is no performance, which i believe there will be with the help of training, career development, you can finalise on first class.
Stop the second class citizen like most banks are doing, segregating HND from B.Sc. Dont they pass through the same tunnel of fire like the B.Sc candidate.
A word is a enough for a wise.

My name is wale toriola,a master degree holder in mechanical engineering from university of lagos.I just want to know the reasons behind the isolation between the candidates with 1st class,2:1,2:2 and those with 3rd class.To my best advice,all candidates should be giving equal opportunity.The fact that one passes through university metamorphosis is enough.Pls help alleviate rates of unemployment in our society.

I have HND Electrical/Electronics Engineering and lacks those years of post NYSC experience.I only have 5 years pre NYSC experience.For this reason and my qualification,i am not eligible.
Their recruitment requirement is just too tight and tough.Somebody tell me why they discriminate between the HND and BSc when it comes to IT, Engineering and Telecommunication sector.

If those Human Resouce Manager really know what is happening in Most Nigerian Institutions, they would not be segregating between those class of degrees. I wounder If they really know that most of this 2.1 or 2.2 are both in the higher institution. I think it will be better for them to stop such segregation if they really what to employ the best candidate. Let me also inform them that there are many notable 3rd class graduates who are performing wonderfully in the Ngerian Banking, Academic & Judiciary institutions. They are Tony Elumelu of UBA, Prof. Ama Nduka of Futo, Chief Gani Fawehinmi & Prof. WOLE Shoyinka.
It is high time we stopped the discrimination in the mode of recruitment in the labour market, everybody should be given a fair chance to prove themselves because many instances in Nigeria education system especially the tetiary institution has shown that the so called results carried about by the graduate is not the best way to judge the perfomance of each graduate. Many with lower grade actually encountered one or two challenges that had a lasting effect on their result so judging by their result might not be actually tell what their capability is. Please let the appropriate authority see this as a wake up call in other to save our country from unnecessary discrimination which leads to dejection of the many today and inturns degenerate to engaging in series of criminal acts.
Hi guys, does Ericsson not need people in their admin sector, why only sciences. There is no organisation that can function without admin. I’ve got a B.Sc Sociology and am MBA Marketing from OAU, Ife with over 5 years experience

It is not all by certificate in most of the universities and polytechnics these days, but by what you can offer. why not call for interview in a very truthful way without godfather or longleg thing as most people/ organizations do just shout out to those who are ready then get the good once. again i say not by certificate this days. meanwhile, I am good in communication and computer operations.

Hey there, I donno think there’s anything bad in an employer saying this is the kind of employee he needs, so we shouldn’t say its discrimination or blame the employers for doing this. What I feel should be done is that they should make room for each class, so that everyone can apply. !!~ cheers

na wa oh! naija don start again…. i was very happy at first when i saw d advert but became very sad, angry and restless because of d seggregation. wat i believe is dat everyone should be given a fair chance. cal 4 an interview, be honest about it and get d best. u can never tel wat a 2:2 or less may have upstairs. am a geologist wit a high 2:2.

Why has it been that you have not been considering some of the Technical Graduates of HND OR B.Sc which are future of those companies.
Why is Ericsson afraid of knowing the truth and hiring the best hands.Truth is put everybody on a test and then choose.Don’t start all this 1st,2nd,3rd class thing,you and I know those results are all bullshit.A HOD or even Dean definitley must not allow a VC’s child to go without a half class grade.Not even first class.
So allow everybody to apply,then do your test your own way and anybody that scales through goes.chikina.

Why is it that emphasis are being placed on the issues of state of origin, ethnic group, sex, age etc. It should be all about someone that can do the job irrespective of all those mentioned above.
Let’s try to make a change, otherwise, the issue of considering relatives will always come up first.
