Mife Construction: Workshop Supervisor

Mife Construction provides a broad spectrum of engineering services which include the building of roads, bridges, and civil works on oil drilling locations. Mife Construction is a multi-disciplinary engineering contractor with a number of heavy civil engineering projects throughout the country.

As a result of expansion in the activities of this company we now have an opening for a Workshop Supervisor with a proven track record within the construction industry to join our existing team of mechanics.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Workshop management of routine and recondition repairs
  • Spare part ordering and management
  • Spare part utilization management
  • Oil/lubricant management
  • Scrap management
  • Mechanical mobile service management
  • HSE compliance management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Minimum of a second class lower division degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Not less than 30 years of age
  • Ideally have at least 4-7 years experience within the construction industry in a supervisory or managerial position with proof of success and effectiveness
  • In depth knowledge of vehicle and plant maintenance is essential together with a sound knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • A good knowledge of mobile and gantry cranes is an advantage.
  • You will be an experienced workshop supervisor, with very strong leadership and communication skills and able to work on your own initiative and the ability to motivate a team of technical/mechanical staff, to create impact and influence
  • The ability to plan, co-ordinate and control work within a busy team.
  • Experience in the use of IT vehicle maintenance management systems is essential.
  • Have a good working and mechanical knowledge of all makes and types of commercial waste vehicles and trailer maintenance
  • Have a basic knowledge in Hydraulics & Pneumatics
  • Computer and IT Literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and databases
  • Have a good working knowledge of COSHH, LOLER and PUWER Regulations.
  • Should have a flexible approach in day to day duties and be required to undertake other duties appropriate to the grade, a certain amount of travelling will be expected
